This week saw the reveal of the all-new Bentley Continental GT, a potent grand-tourer capable of outrunning the Aston Martin DB11 with 626 horsepower on tap. Don't worry though, because Aston Martin is fighting back with a souped up version of the DB11 later next year. Called the DB11 S, reports have suggested that the 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine will be massaged to churn out around 650 hp, though that's still not quite enough power to fend off the incredible 700-hp Bentley Continental GT Supersports.

A prototype model has seemingly been spotted attacking the Nurburgring, giving us an early glimpse of the DB11 S in action. For comparison, the standard DB11 packs 600 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to sprint from 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds and max out at 200 mph. No doubt the DB11 S will shave off a few tenths of a second off that sprint time.

As well as a power upgrade, the DB11 S will sport a more aggressive front end with larger air intakes providing better cooling to the turbocharged engine, as well as improved aerodynamics and larger alloys to set it apart from its standard sibling. It will also sit lower to the ground and have stiffer suspension allowing you to attack corners more aggressively than before. Aston Martin is expected to reveal the DB11 S at some point next year before starting deliveries towards the end of 2018. Prices will start at around $225,872, making the DB11 S around $20,000 more expensive than the standard car.
