This is the one-of-one Isdera Commendatore 112i, and it's headed to auction.
If you have a burning desire to own a completely unique hypercar, have tons of extra cash lying about, and feel like taking a trip to Paris in February next year, bidding on this ultra-rare 1993 Isdera Commendatore 112i next year might tickle your fancy. It has a backstory as intriguing as its looks, which will undoubtedly garner you all the attention you want on the road, with gullwing doors like those on the more modern Pagani Huayra, and the signature periscope rearview mirror perched on the roof. This one-off supercar has only around 6,500 miles on the clock, and will be auctioned by RM Sotheby's in 2021.
As the only example ever made, the Commendatore 112i has been returned to its original glory by the manufacturer, after spending some time kitted out as a more standard road car, sans the single rearview mirror and racing wheels. Now back to 1993 specifications, it boasts Porsche Arctic Silver paintwork, specially-commissioned BBS wheels, and Recaro blue and black interior trim, as intended by the original designer. The piece de resistance is the M120 V12 engine under the rear gullwing cover, which is sourced from Mercedes-Benz. It's the same motor found on the Pagani Zonda, and, much like other one-of-one speedsters like this Zonda Aether Roadster from the same auction house, it is expected to sell for millions.
But, this is no mere collector's item; the car is currently registered for road usage in Germany, and was previously licensed in Switzerland - this is a car meant to be driven, not left to collect dust. And, while it could easily find itself on a list of once-off supercars that have no limit on price, we doubt the final tally will be too far over three or four million dollars. The aforementioned Pagani Zonda Aether was sold for upwards of $6.8 million dollars, but the Commendatore 112i is offered for sale by Isdera itself in the hope that someone with a desire to experience the true essence of the car will bid for it in the no reserve auction coming up early in the new year.
