Ford has its hands full with the Bronco right now. Besides the fact that some customers will have to wait far longer to take delivery than expected, Ford is also contending with a quality defect that affected Broncos with the hardtop roof. In an effort to appease frustrated customers, the FordBronco Instagram account has been posting answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about the SUV, its production, and delivery dates. One of those answers revealed a way to speed up the delivery of your Bronco, but you might have to be willing to make a sacrifice that you don't want to.

"The easiest way to get your Bronco faster is, if you have a four-door on order, to switch from a molded-in color hardtop to a soft-top Bronco," said a member of the Bronco team. It wasn't specified how much sooner you'll get your Bronco four-door if you make this switch, but it could be worth it for customers who don't mind getting the soft-top. Of course, Ford is hard at work not only producing new Broncos, but also replacing the hardtop roofs of models that were affected by the quality issue. That has obviously placed a strain on the hardtop roof supplier. Notably, all four-door soft-tops as of September 2021 production come standard with a hardtop prep package that allows you to add a hardtop to your Bronco order later.

Ford also committed to a few other strategies for eligible Bronco customers as the wait continues to take delivery. It said that it would provide "price protection on MSRP through the 2023 model year for all order holders and reservation holders as of March 19, 2021." In addition, Ford will provide up to $1,100 in Ford Pass reward points that could, for example, be used for accessories like the fold-out table. On the downside, customers who ordered a 2021 Bronco and have not yet been scheduled will no longer receive a 2021 model as Ford simply couldn't keep pace with demand. Also, some 2022 Broncos will only be delivered in 2023 depending on the model you've specified. Most likely, these late deliveries will have the hardtop.
