2020 Dodge Challenger gets new premium upgrades.
The Dodge Challenger received a lot of love last year, with the introduction of two new models for the 2019 model year: the 797-horsepower SRT Hellcat Redeye and the R/T Scat Pack Widebody. While there are no model lineup changes like the 2020 Dodge Journey, the Dodge Challenger and Challenger SRT have been given a raft of updates for the 2020 model year.
In terms of visual changes, nine new wheels and finishes are available throughout the lineup. SXT AWD and GT AWD models now feature 19-inch Satin Carbon wheels as standard with available Black Noise wheels, which are also included with the Blacktop Package. The GT RWD, on the other hand, features new standard 20-inch Satin Carbon wheels, available Satin Carbon Wheels (included with Plus Group) and optional Lights Out wheels (included with Performance Handling Group).
20-inch Satin Carbon wheels are now included as standard for R/T models, along with polished Tinted Clear wheels (included with Plus Group) and available Lights Out wheels (included with T/A Package and Performance Handling Group). The R/T Scat Pack now includes standard 20-inch Low Gloss Granite wheels, while the R/T Scat Pack Widebody is available with 20- x 11-inch Low Gloss Black wheels.
SRT Hellcat Widebody and SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody models feature new standard 20- x 11-inch Low Gloss Black wheels and optional Low Gloss Granite "Warpspeed" wheels, while SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye models can be fitted with optional 20-inch Machined wheels with Granite pockets.
Other visual changes include new HEMI fender badges added to R/T models and a Scat Pack Bee spoiler badge on the R/T Scat Pack. Three new exterior paint options will also be added to the lineup: Frostbite, Hellraisin and Sinamon Stick. Inside, all models equipped with leather boast an all-new premium-stitched dash and upper door panels, along with optional carbon-fiber bezels packaged with a Dynamica suede headliner on all V8 models. Elsewhere, a new flat-bottom leather steering wheel has been added to the Performance Handling Group package on GT RWD and R/T models, as well as the Dynamics Package on R/T Scat Pack and the Widebody package on the R/T Scat Pack. Challenger GT, R/T and R/T Scat Pack models also get a new Caramel Alcantara interior color option.
Engine options have carried over from last year, which means SXT, SXT AWD, GT and GT AWD models are powered by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 305 horsepower. R/T models utilize Dodge's legendary 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with up to 375 horsepower, while the R/T Scat Pack and Scat Pack widebody models use a naturally aspirated 392 HEMI V8 with 485 horsepower. A 717-hp, supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 lurks under the hood of SRT Hellcat models, while the SRT Hellcat Redeye increases the output to 797 horsepower.
