The Ford F-150 is America's best-selling pickup, and there's a very good reason for that. It simply provides the best balance of capability, reliability, comfort, and technology. Like any other vehicle, it has had its fair share of problems and the ongoing chip shortage isn't making life for dealers or buyers any easier. Still, it remains in high demand, even with an electric powertrain. In order to keep that momentum going, Ford needs the F-150 to continue to be the best, and thanks to an official dealer order guide recently shared on the F150gen14 forum, we now know what Ford is planning to offer so that it can retain that top spot.

For starters, the 3.0-liter Power Stroke diesel engine is no longer available. This affects both late 2021 and all 2022 models, although you can still get the two EcoBoost turbocharged V6 engines, the Coyote 5.0-liter V8, and the PowerBoost hybrid model. Other changes include the deletion of colors like Guard, Kodiak Brown, and Lead Foot, while Atlas Blue is a new offering available across the range depending on your choice of packages. Speaking of packages for the 2022 Ford F-150, there are quite a few new offerings available on various models in the range, some of which are standard on certain models.

A new STX Black Appearance package is available for the XL High model, while the XLT also gets a similar package as an option for the XLT Mid and High. The Lariat gets the same option for the High model, as does the Platinum trim. A new Bed Utility package is on offer too, with this available to XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Tremor models. This package is standard on the Limited and included with certain King Ranch and Platinum variants. The package adds unique interior upholstery and a few styling enhancements, but we'll have more details on this when we get closer to launch, at which time we still hope to see the long-awaited F-150 Raptor R.
