Here’s When The Audi RS6 Avant Will Debut In The US

Wagon / Comments

Audi is giving fans a chance to get an early look at the new RS6 Avant sports wagon before it goes on sale next year.

Last month, Audi answered the prayers of wagon enthusiasts when it announced the RS6 Avant is finally coming to America for the first time in the model's history to rival the Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon. Combining potent performance with practicality, the new sports wagon will go on sale in the second or third quarter next year, but you'll be able to marvel at it in the metal much sooner as Audi has confirmed the RS6 Avant will make its US debut this week.

Specifically, Audi will be showing off the RS6 Avant on Sunday, November 10 at the Malibu Cars & Coffee event, which takes place at the Malibu Bluffs Park located off the Pacific Coast Highway.

Potential customers can view the car between 7 am and 9 am and speak with Audi product experts. Those who can't attend the Cars & Coffee event will be able to view the RS6 Avant at the 2019 LA Auto Show on November 22 until December 1.

"Audi has a strong heritage in exciting wagon-fans around the world that have, over many years, been drawn to their design, performance and no-compromise character," said Filip Brabec, vice president Product Management at Audi of America. "The passionate response of US customers eagerly awaiting this car was the number one reason we chose to debut the RS6 Avant to our fans and enthusiasts first."

Powering the Audi RS6 Avant is a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo, mild-hybrid V8 pumping out 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission and Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system. With this setup, 0-62 mph takes 3.6 seconds before the RS Avant tops out at 190 mph with the optional Dynamic Plus package. Pricing hasn't been confirmed yet, but we're expecting Audi's new sports wagon to cost under $100,000.
