Here's Your Chance To Own Michael Schumacher's AMG Wagon

It was the F1 legend's company car in 2010.

Mercedes-Benz has a long history of building unassuming family wagons sporting large engines overflowing with horsepower. It started in the 1970s, with the S123 quietly available with tuning from AMG. While the US has been lucky enough to get the E63 S, we've missed out on some truly incredible gems - like this S204 C63 AMG.

With a naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 under the bulging hood, this 451-hp family car was good for 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. Small wonder that legendary F1 racing champion Michael Schumacher took a liking to the C63, taking delivery of this very example in 2010. When he joined the Mercedes GP Petronas Formula 1 Team, he was given this V8 family wagon as a company car.

Twelve years on, the C63 Wagon has covered around 94,000 miles under the careful watch of four owners. Schumacher used the car for just a few months before it was sold to a Swiss customer, who is responsible for the majority of the mileage.

The AMG then went to live with a Mercedes engineer, who covered a mere 1,000 km in the C63 but returned the car to excellent condition, before selling it to its last owner. Only used in the summer, this pampered Mercedes also received all its services at Benz dealers. Based on the pictures, it's not perfect: scratches on the paintwork can be seen, while the headlights are showing signs of fading.

For a 12-year-old car with nearly 100,000 miles on the clock, the interior presents fairly well. All the soft-touch plastics, switches, and leather appear to have minimal signs of wear, but the driver's pew will require some rehabilitation if the current owner plans to restore this C63 to factory condition.

Bonhams notes Schumacher's C63 would have carried a hefty price tag, fitted with an estimated €20,000 ($22,000) in optional extras. Both the front seats are, naturally, leather-wrapped and boast heating and electric adjustment with memory on both sides. Three-zone climate control, the brand's COMAND infotainment system and a Harmon Kardon sound system can also be seen.

With its unique history, Schumacher's former C63 AMG Wagon has great providence and will, most likely, be a desirable vehicle for F1 and Mercedes fans alike. Bonhams is expecting the S204 to sell for between €50,000 and €100,000 ($56,000 and $113,000) - around the same price as AMG's fierce E63 Wagon.
