It is perhaps the one hot-hatch that's been consistently on the wish list for many enthusiasts for quite some time. And, once again, Honda is denying these US enthusiasts the chance to buy one. That's because the all-new Civic Type-R will remain exclusively an overseas gem. This week in the UK the order books have been opened. Honda has just announced that anxious UK Type-R buyers can now secure their car with a £3,000 deposit at their local dealer.

According to the Japanese automaker, the 2015 Type-R will be the most extreme and high-performing generation in the entire 22-year history of the red "H" badge. For example, this model will feature what's called the "+R" button, located on the side of the steering wheel. Once pressed, engine response is heightened, with torque-mapping changed to a more aggressive and performance-focused setting. Steering becomes more responsive as well. The so-called "ultimate handling experience" can partly be attributed to the new four-point Adaptive Damper System. Power comes from a turbocharged 2.0-liter i-VTEC four producing 276 horsepower. A six-speed manual comes standard. Too bad we'll never know what it's like to drive.
