Honda Civic Hatchback Leak Shows Two Exciting Colors

Leaked / Comments

The rest are pretty mundane.

The 2022 Honda Civic Sedan is already on sale, but car enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting sportier variants like the Civic Si and 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback. The Si will exclusively send power to the ground through a six-speed manual transmission and unlike the sedan, the hatchback will offer a manual option on both the base and turbocharged engines.

A leaked color chart from earlier this month revealed that the Civic Si will come in six hues, including Crystal Black Pearl, Aegean Blue Metallic, Sonic Gray Pearl, Rallye Red, Platinum White Pearl, and Blazing Orange Pearl. Now, another leak posted on the CivicXI forum has revealed the color palette for the Civic hatchback.

The hatchback shares a few colors in common with the standard sedan and sporty Si, but adds a few unique ones into the mix. Crystal Black Pearl, Sonic Gray Pearl, Rallye Red, and Platinum White Pearl are all available elsewhere in the Civic lineup, but Boost Blue Pearl (pictured above), Meteorite Grey Metallic, and Smokey Mauve Pearl are exclusive to the hatchback.

Judging by the dollar signs listed next to Boost Blue Pearl, Platinum White Pearl, Sonic Grey Pearl, Smokey Mauve Pearl, we'd guess these colors are premium options while the remaining hues are no-cost. This color guide reveals that the Civic hatchback will have two interior colors, black and grey, with the latter only available on the upper trim levels with a white or grey exterior. All other exteriors are locked to a black interior.

Along with the color information, this document reveals that the Civic hatchback will use the "FL2" internal chassis code designation for the 2.0-liter model, and "FL1" for the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. The sedan model goes by the internal designation "FE1" and "FE2." Honda will offer the hatchback in three trim levels: Sport, EX-L, and Sport Touring. The EX-L only comes with a CVT while the other two are available with a six-speed manual. If you opt for a Sport Touring with a manual, though, you are banned from all the fun colors and can only choose black, white, or grey.

The Civic Hatchback should be available starting in September 2021.
