The Honda Civic Type R is just weeks away from its world debut, and we're waiting for a full reveal any day now. Honda, however, isn't ready to unveil the hot hatch just yet but has provided some insight into the car's performance and styling. Power will come from a 2.0-liter turbocharged direct-injection VTEC that insiders have previously said will deliver around 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. Honda remains quiet on output for now.

The Japanese carmaker has announced, however, it will have a class-leading top speed of 167 mph. High speed stability and buckets of downforce come from unique vents, grilles, spoilers and skirts, including an optimized rear diffuser, bespoke rear wing, a wide front splitter, deep side skirts and specially-shaped front bumper. High-performance Brembo brakes designed specifically for the Type R will come housed in new 19-inch alloys that fill the wheel arches, while enlarged grilles and strategically placed vents will help with heat management. The Honda Civic Type R will debut on March 3 in Geneva.
