The Civic Si is expected to arrive in October.
The all-new 2022 Honda Civic Sedan has arrived in America, but it won't be long until its sportier Si sibling goes on sale. According to a recent leak, the next-generation Civic Si will arrive this October, one month after the new Civic Hatchback goes on sale.
The regular Civic Sedan has been criticized for looking bland, but leaked dealer information posted on the CivicXI forum shows that the sportier Civic Si will be available in a new eye-catching color to help it stand out. According to the leak, the 2022 Civic Si will be available in the following exterior colors: Crystal Black Pearl, Aegean Blue Metallic, Sonic Gray Pearl, Rallye Red, Platinum White Pearl, and a new Blazing Orange Pearl finish. All exterior colors are matched with a black and red interior.
The Lunar Silver, Meteorite Gray Metallic, and Morning Mist Metallic available for the Civic Sedan Touring, will not be available for the Civic Si. Hopefully, the new Blazing Orange Pearl color will look similar to the striking Solar Flare Pearl finish Honda used for the 2022 Civic prototype that debuted last year. We were wondering why the production Civic Sedan wasn't available in orange like the prototype, so it looks like Honda is reserving it for the new Civic Sedan Si. Unlike its predecessor, the new Civic Si will only be available as a Sedan as the Civic Coupe has been discontinued.
Under the hood, the Civic Sedan is offered with either a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder producing 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque or a more potent turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder rated at 180 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired with a Continuously Variable Automatic. The new Civic Si should get a slight power bump over its predecessor, which produces 205 hp and 192 lb-ft. As a result, the sportier Si will carry a price premium over the regular Civic Sedan, which starts at $21,700. After the new Si debuts in October, the new Civic Type R will arrive next year.
