According to the Japanese Nikkei business daily, Honda has scheduled a release date for the new Fit Shuttle on June 16th. Honda originally intended to launch this earlier in the year, but their plans were suddenly put on hold due to the tragic earthquake and tsunami, which struck Japan last March. The Fit subcompact will be offered with either a standard gasoline 4-cylinder engine or a hybrid version.

Despite all the tragedy Japan has been through recently, automakers such as Honda and Toyota continue to push suppliers in order to regain their pre-earthquake production capabilites. The Fit Shuttle will be a Japanese market-only model, with no intention yet to export it to the U.S or even Europe. No pricing was made available.
