The UK division of Mugen is expressing their desire to produce a version of the Jazz. The firm, located in the Midlands section of Northampton, is also recently responsible for the supercharged CR-Z hybrid version that has a very limited production. Mugen now wants to revamp the Jazz to be even more aggressive. The management team would use either the CR-Z's supercharged hybrid powerplant or a high-revving 2.0 liter VTEC unit which resembles the same once used in the previous Civic Type R.

Colin Whittamore, Mugen Euro's General Manager, stated that it has been a long standing desire of the firm to produce their take on the Jazz. He also said that it "would not be as much of a stretch" to fit the 197hp supercharged version of the CR-Z's 1.5-liter hybrid motor, which, interestingly enough, is being-tested by Mugen UK far ahead of its public debut at Goodwood. There is no official word yet if the Jazz Mugen would go into production, but the idea also doesn't sound impossible. Wishful thinking we suppose.
