Honda has released the first official photos of their latest car for the British Touring Car Championships. The Civic race car, developed by Honda Racing, features a slick design and will compete in the British racing series beginning on April 1st. Piloted by three-time BTCC champion Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden, the hatchback-inspired racer will look to secure victory for the Japan-based team.

The next-generation touring car (NGTC) ran some successful tests on the MIRA track last week and the team will continue putting the car through its paces up until the season opener. "This is the first opportunity we have had to get behind the wheel to really see what the car has got. The team is really pleased with the results from the test at MIRA last week and I can't wait to finally start putting the car through its paces. It will be interesting to see how the car performs, but I'm optimistic that we'll walk away from today confident we have a championship winning car," said Matt Neal.

Teammate Gordon Shedden added: "The feedback on the new Civic NGTC car so far is incredibly promising and I've been itching to get into the car since the end of the 2011 season. Like Matt mentioned, this is the first time we have had to really push the car and I'm looking forward to putting it into action." Honda Racing's next scheduled testing session for the Honda Civic NGTC is scheduled for February 23rd at the Donington Park circuit.
