Honda's New Ads Bring Our Favorite 80s Action Figures Back to Life

It's He-Man and Skeletor duking it out again...this time while singing Jingle Bros.

Remember He-Man and Skeletor? Jem and the Holograms? And who could forget Gumby and Pokey? Well, if you weren’t around in the 1980s then you’re totally forgiven for being clueless here. For those who grew up in the era of arcade games, boomboxes, Walkmans, cassette tapes, and the collapse of the Soviet Union, these old school toys and cartoon characters (well, stop-motion in the case of Gumby) should be quite familiar.

Heck, we haven’t seen, let alone thought about them, in years. And yet Honda has brought them all back for a three video series.

Between now and December 21, whichever of the three videos receives the most views Honda will donate $50,000 to one of three charities: Children’s Hospital of Orange County, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, or the Little League Urban Initiative.

Nothing was mentioned regarding any smaller (or equal) donation to the charities of the two lesser viewed videos. But hey, this is the season of giving and it’s nice to see Honda helping out. These videos also bring back some old memories of playing with action figures. But NOT Jem, definitely not Jem.
