Does the Phantom's rear-driving V12 make it a better hooning machine than we'd otherwise think? One hoonigan sets out to find out.
There are lots of cars that are worth hooning, but we're not sure the Rolls-Royce Phantom is one of them. On the one hand, it has a 450+horsepower, 6.75-liter V12 driving the rear wheels. On the other, it tips the scale at about 6,000 lbs worth of leather, wood and deep-pile carpeting, and costs over a third of a million dollars. In other words, you're not likely to see one burning donuts or smoking its rear tires on the drag strip or a back lot. But an English estate, now that's another story.
In this video, some hooligan gets behind the wheel of just such an unlikely rally machine and puts it through its paces on puddle-pocked dirt roads and grassy fields in the British countryside. It's not a sight you're likely to see again, so better check it out in the clip below.
