Supercar comes very close to reaching its "limited" top speed of 217 mph.
The display may have read 211 mph, but the radars at the Vmax Hypermax by Auto Vivendi event clocked the stunning McLaren P1 hit 205 mph on the runway. Thanks to Shmee150, we have some awesome footage of the run to share, first from an onlooker’s perspective and then from the passenger seat. The P1 was running against a Litchfield-tuned Nissan GT-R packing 850 hp, which was also no slouch.
McLaren says the P1 is limited to 217 mph – so it wasn't going totally flat out – and if rumors are to be believed, the British carmaker is working on a track-only variant of the hybrid hypercar. Now that is going to be fast.
