Few things go better together than rock 'n roll and hot rods. From Elvis Presley to Van Halen, most rock n roll heroes have driven bad-ass cars, and to honor that great American tradition, Hot Wheels and legendary guitar manufacturer Fender are teaming up to pay tribute to some of Hot Wheel's most iconic 1960s hot rod diecast models.

The two iconic brands have created 16 unique Masterbuilt guitars inspired by the die-cast vehicles introduced by Mattel in 1968. Each guitar features its own unique design and color combination that stays true to the 1:64 scale model car it was inspired by. Hot Wheels has been hard at work keeping the tradition of hot rodding alive with its Hot Wheels Legends Tour, and line of exclusive model car releases, the latest being the Ford Mustang 302 Boss Hoss.

Each guitar is constructed by a master or apprentice builder from the Fender Custom Shop, and is based on classic fender designs such as the Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jaguar, Precision Bass, and Katana.

"Hot Wheels rides have been just as much part of our team's childhood as classic guitars, so getting the opportunity to create one-of-a-kind instruments inspired by some of our favorite cars has been a dream. Each builder brought their own unique take to the design process, which was influenced by the years of childhood nostalgia and the iconic orange track. The final results are works of art that pay tribute to both Fender and Hot Wheels., said Dennis Galuszka, FCS Master Builder. "

The 16-strong guitar collection starts off with the Hot Wheels Mod Rod Strat finished in Dark Blue with Gold Leaf Competition Stripes. This guitar is built by Paul Waller and features a Rift Sawn Maple Neck with 60s Oval "C" back shape and a round-lam ebony fingerboard with stainless steel side dots. The design also features vintage-style elements such as a Josefina Hand-Wound Texas Special bridge, fat 50's Strat pickups, and vintage-style tuning machines. It retails for $14,000.

We really dig the Floral Blue Hot Wheels Twin Mill Strat, which sells for $15,500. It's built by Kyle McMillin and features an ebony fingerboard with a Mother of Pearl circle flame inlay, and Bare Knuckle Impulse pickups with radiator covers, recessed Floyd Rose pro locking tremolo mase volume and tone controls with three-way toggle, and Gotoh SG381 tuning machines.

The final guitar on the list is the Hot Wheels Baja Truck Strat, finished in Gray with Mint Green Striping. This stunning guitar costs $12,500, and features a matching painted Flat Sawn Maple Neck with '62 Style Jaguar back-shape and a Flat-Lam ebony fingerboard with Mother of Pearl Face Dots. Hardware consists of Seymour Duncan Lipstick Tube pickups, rear-loaded volume and tone controls with three-way toggle, and a vintage-style Jaguar tremolo with an RSD J-bridge. This is one badass collection, and would make any guitar hot rod, or Hot Wheels owner proud.
