It's time to break the previous model's record from 2011.
The Isle of Man TT Course is one of the most challenging and dangerous racetracks in the world. Although it may be better known as one of the most prestigious locales for motorcycle racing, the course is also used for motorcars from time to time. The Subaru WRX STI is one of those cars. And now that latest generation of one of the world's best rally racers is aiming to set a new lap record. Conditions, as always, are dangerous. The pavement is usually wet and the course is full of twists and turns.
A WRX STI production lap record was set back in 2011, with an average speed of 115.356 mph and a time of 19 minutes, 37 seconds. This year there's an improved car on hand, but the goal is obviously to smash those previous numbers.
