How Excited Should You Get About The Ferrari-Powered Alfa Romeo Giulia?

Sedan

Ferrari is involved, so very.

It’s shocking what Alfa Romeo was just able to pull off in the Internet age. It kept its new sedan, the Giulia, a secret until a moment before it officially broke cover. Alfa Romeo basically broke the automotive Internet. So, what makes the Giulia so damn special that it freaked out gearheads on both sides of the Atlantic? For starters, the range-topping Quadrifoglio Verde (QV), is something special. It’s powered by a Ferrari-derived V6. Yeah, that Ferrari.

The twin-turbo V6 throws down 510 horsepower, all to the rear wheels. A six-speed manual transmission is being offered in addition to the 8-speed auto with paddle shifting. In terms of weight distribution there’s a 50/50 distribution, just like the MX-5.

In terms of styling the Giulia is a beauty with a unique grille and aggressive body highlighted by its "Active Aero Splitter" that Alfa says actively manages downforce. Don't forget the menacing quad exhaust partitioned by the diffuser. The best part of all of this is that the Giulia is coming to the US. After years of either not knowing or caring about Alfa Romeo it’s time to brush up on your Italian.
