The lightweight material of choice today for many high-performance cars is carbon fiber. It's still very expensive to produce and buy, but is slowly becoming a fairly common feature. It's a very flexible material that can be formed into many components, from the interior to body panels. And now we even have carbon-fiber wheels. They're not entirely brand new, but you also don't see them regularly. Perhaps in a few years that'll change thanks to companies like Carbon Revolution.

With all the time in the world these days to devote to his garage, Jay Leno meets up with one of the inventors of CR's all-carbon fiber wheels. To show just how impressive these things are, the wheels have been fitted to a 2008 Porsche 911 GTRS. Leno then takes the car to Willow Springs to see how much of a difference they make.
