There has never been a better time to be alive for truck fans than right now. The US truck market is booming with powerful offerings, and the most powerful of them all is the Ram 1500 TRX. This full-size pickup truck packs a 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 engine that produces 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. With a 0-60 time of only 4.5 seconds, the Ram 1500 TRX has even caught Tesla's eye, and the EV company has started benchmarking the upcoming Tesla Cybertruck against this beast.

The aftermarket scene has obviously jumped at the opportunity to tune one of these pickups, and Hennessey Performance is one of the first. Hennessey is well known for building fast cars, and to prove its worth, the company recently placed an upgraded TRX on the dyno to see what numbers it could kick out.

The stock Ram 1500 TRX easily puts out high 600-hp figures at the wheels, with the torque numbers coming in not far behind, but there are always those who want more. Hennessey Performance caters to those individuals by offering performance upgrades such as an improved supercharger, better pulleys, a high-flow exhaust, and new engine calibration.

The Mammoth 1000 package, as the company calls it, promises 1,012 hp and 969 lb-ft of torque. That equates to a power increase over stock of 310 hp and 319 lb-ft. "The Mammoth 1000 upgrades completely transform this impressive pickup into something astonishingly powerful, visually exciting, and indisputably unique," says founder and CEO, John Hennessey.

In the video, we can see the truck winding its way up the rev range on the machine. That 6.2-liter engine sounds pure, but the supercharger whine adds a layer of attitude. The dyno results show a final power reading of 761 hp and 585 lb-ft of torque. That represents an increase of 176 hp and 140 lb-ft of torque over stock at the wheels. So the package doesn't exactly live up to its name, at least on this dyno, but it's still seriously impressive.
