Alfa Romeo is all set to sell you the "world's fastest production SUV" for $20,000 less than it would cost to buy a BMW X5 M. Alfa Romeo announced the 2018 Stelvio Quadrifoglio would arrive in dealers early this year at a starting price of $79,995 plus a $1,595 destination fee. For that, you'll have the pleasure of a raucous Italian SUV that produces 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque from its 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6.

The company has billed the high-performance SUV as the world's fastest production model, claiming to reach 60 mph in 3.9 seconds on its way to a top speed of 176 mph. "We specifically crafted the Stelvio Quadrifoglio to truly set itself apart among high-performance vehicles and it does not disappoint-whether being driven on the Nurburgring or on roads across North America," said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Alfa Romeo. The Stelvio Quadrifogio's world's-fastest title may be short-lived, however, as Lamborghini readies its 650-horsepower Urus SUV, which should be good for 190 mph.

Aside from power, the 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio will come with a torque vectoring differential, "Race" mode, adaptive suspension, Alfa's Q4 all-wheel-drive system, a carbon-fiber driveshaft, 20-inch aluminum wheels, and six-piston Brembo brakes to bring it all to a stop. Inside, the high-performance model gets bolstered Alcantara leather seats, 14-way power front seats, leather-wrapped interior trim, and additional carbon fiber trim pieces. The 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio will arrive on dealer lots in early 2018.
