We know, it's hard to believe that Volvos aren't drag cars.
The video posted here is of the moment when that sinking feeling in your stomach tells you you’ve just blown your transaxle/differential. The car we’re seeing is a modified 1996 Volvo 850R which serves as the owner’s drag car as well as his ride to the track. He says that he normally drops the tire pressure down a bit upon arriving to the track in order to reduce wheel hop at launch, but was in a rush this time and didn’t get a chance to.
The result is plain to see, as is one of the problems with drag racing in a FWD car.
