How To Ford A River Like An Australian

Off-Road

The correct number of fucks to give is zero.

If you happen to have a particularly capable 4x4 vehicle, especially one equipped with a snorkel, you might sometimes get a bit cocky about using it to cross rivers. You might get so cocky, in fact, that you don’t bother checking the depth at all, and just charge straight in with your Toyota Land Cruiser, for example. And as it happens, we’ve got a video from Australia of just that very thing happening in a river that is much too deep. The Land Cruiser becomes a rudderless, and slowly sinking, watercraft of sorts.

But you can’t argue with the results. Enjoy.
