There are loads of endurance races throughout the year, but Le Mans just hits different.

We think it's a combination of things that makes this particular race so unique, starting with endurance racing's simplistic rules. Whoever covers the greatest distance in 24 hours wins. And naturally, all of the engineering that goes into building a racing car capable of lasting 24 hours at full send. In many ways, the cars that compete at Circuit de la Sarthe makes F1 cars look weak and feeble.

Speaking of, La Sarthe is a special track. It's essentially a street circuit that's 8.5 miles long. There are 38 turns and the most famous straight of them all, the Mulsanne. LM P2 cars can easily hit a higher top speed than an F1 car going full tilt down here.

Or maybe it's the night portion of the race, which is absolutely wild.

Whatever it is, Le Mans is happening this weekend, and you can't afford to miss it. We know the lineup is a bit disappointing, but we see it as a warmup for next year's centenary race. Next year there will be a host of manufacturers competing in the hypercar class, including Acura, Alpine, Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Peugeot, Porsche, and, naturally, Toyota.

Toyota will likely dominate the race. It's on pole position, but there is good reason to still tune in. There are only five cars in the famous Hypercar Class, two of which are American. Two Glickenhaus Racing 007 LMH cars will be lining up against two Toyota GR010 Hybrid and one Alpine A480 Gibson.

Two Corvette C8.Rs will be lining up in the LM GTE Pro class against two Porsche RSRs and three Ferrari 488 GTE Evos.

See it as an opportunity to cheer for the Corvette C8. Given the production problems, it's the closest you'll likely get to one.

How can you watch Le Mans in the USA?

You have two options. You can either download and pay for the MotorTrend App, which will provide live coverage, a multi-screen setup, and access to in-car dashboard cameras. The latter feature will be epic during the night sections if only to demonstrate what the racers have to go through. Motor Trend charges $4.99 per month for a subscription.

You can also watch it on Motor Trend TV, a cable channel owned by Discovery. There are also DirecTV Stream options. Philo, Hulu, Fubo, Fubo Elite, YouTube TV, and Vidgo will all live streaming the race.

You can download the World Endurance Championship (WEC) App if you have a VPN. A one-off pass for Le Mans costs around $10.50.

The race traditionally starts at 4 pm in France, which is 10 am Eastern time in the USA.
