The Australian Motor Show in Melbourne took place last weekend and featured some of the more interesting designs we have seen as of late. Holden Special Vehicles (HSV), the official in-house tuner of Holden, unveiled several SV Black Edition models based on its Maloo R8 ute, Clubsport R8 sedan and Clubsport R8 Tourer wagon. The Australian performance division turned in some interesting looks and their version of the Pontiac G8 (aka Chevy Caprice) has a very aggressive look.

The over-styled body kits look like HSV is trying hard as the side vents look more like fish gills than anything conducive to speed or power. Special features for the SV Black Edition models also include 20-inch forged alloy wheels, matte black trim, bespoke hood scoops and side vents and a rear discreet rear lip spoiler. Full leather trim and bespoke door sills are also included. There are no performance upgrades to mention, though a 6.2-liter V8 engine that puts out 425hp isn't too shabby. The SV Special Edition models will go on sale exclusively in Australia starting in September. The upgraded vehicles are limited to 225 units.
