Hyundai i30 N Option Concept Revealed With 25 Different Options

Reveal / Comments

We suspect the Veloster N get similar treatment in the US.

The Hyundai i30 N is already a formidable hot hatchback, but Hyundai has taken it to the next level with the i30 N Option Concept. Unveiled at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, the i30 N Option is designed to preview how Hyundai's high-performance division will evolve in the future.

"With our N portfolio we are shaking up the competition, and bringing new performance and emotions for our customers. The development of our N vehicles is grounded in motorsport and our engagement there is the pinnacle of N. The new i30 N Line and our i30 N 'N Option' show car illustrate our dual approach to customization, making N available to a wider audience," said Hyundai's Executive Vice President of High Performance Vehicles & Motorsport Division, Thomas Schemera.

To say that Hyundai has shown little restraint when designing the concept is an understatement. In total, the Hyundai i30 N Option has been fitted with 25 exterior and interior options. New exterior enhancements include a carbon hood with integrated air vents, quad mufflers and an N grille surrounded by a red character line. The concept rides on lightweight 20-inch wheels fitted with high-performance semi-slick tires and is finished in a unique matt paint with red accents specially created for the show car.

Hyundai hasn't held back with the interior either. Black carbon accents adorn the dashboard, air vents, door handles, and on the bottom of the steering wheel, which is covered in high-quality Alcantara. Elsewhere, the upper dashboard and lightweight sport bucket seats also get the Alcantara treatment. Sport pedals and a stylish-looking gear shift complement the performance-focused exterior.

Hyundai says the i30 N Option will go on sale "in the near future" with a raft of customization features tailored for enthusiasts, but whether it will look as racy as the concept remains to be seen. While the Hyundai i30 N isn't coming to America, it's easy to imagine these customization options being made available for other models. A spiced up variant of the Veloster N similar to the i30 N Option could also happen.
