Someone started a petition!
The automotive industry was pretty light on April Fools' Day jokes this year, as the world is still dealing with the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. But Hyundai decided the world could use something to be entertained by, so the N Division shared two silly renderings that will almost certainly never reach production. They depicted what a potential Hyundai Palisade N and Nexo N could look like, sporting the same shade of Performance Blue used on the Veloster N. Both models were graced with red accenting, like the Veloster N, as well as rear spoilers and other aggressive bodywork.
It was meant to be a fun April Fools' Day joke but there are plenty of people out there hoping the Palisade N will go into production. In fact, so many people want Hyundai to build it that there is now a petition.
Maybe this was Hyundai's goal all along?
Posted on Change.org, the petition is titled simply, "Get Hyundai to Produce the Palisade N." In the description, the creator of the petition says:
"In a world where every car is the same: grey, black, white, silver, and maybe, if you are lucky, red, change is appreciated. Show your support to get the Hyundai Palisade N to become readily available at your local dealership!"
As of right now, the petition has only managed to garner around 160 signatures on its way to a goal of 200. We can't imagine that 200 potential buyers would be enough to make Hyundai built such a model but perhaps more will sign in due time.
If Hyundai did build a Palisade N, we'd like it to be powered by the new 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 used in the upcoming Genesis GV80. There, it produces 380 horsepower, which would make the Palisade N a close competitor to the Ford Explorer ST. It likely won't happen, but if enough people sign, who knows?
