You could say that Hyundai is thinking ahead and preparing for the worst. On the other hand, you may be wondering whether they have completely lost it. The answer is actually neither because as many of you likely have guessed, this is all being done as a marketing campaign. Perhaps someone in Hyundai's marketing department is a fan because in celebration of the 100th issue of the popular "The Walking Dead" comic series, one Elantra coupe will be customized in the spirit and style of the issue's cover art.

Hyundai is teaming up with one of the series' creators, Robert Kirkman, to create one special Elantra Coupe that'll be to handle the various issues that could arrive in case of said apocalypse.

In order to take on the zombies, there will be some necessary modifications done to the front-end of the car like the large spiked plow, armored window covers, and even a roof hatch that will allow passengers to shoot zombies from up high. Other additions will be an electric rear trunk to store weapons, all-terrain tires, and even a CB radio (because cell phone towers will likely be down). You can enter to win the zombie apocalypse-ready Elantra on the Hyundai website and the winner will be announced in early July at the Future US booth at Comic-Con in San Diego, California.
