Kia has been struggling to keep the all-new Sorento under wraps. Kia's new crossover will officially break cover at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show in March, but we've already seen it completely undisguised thanks to some revealing spy shots. The Kia Sorento shares its underpinnings with the Hyundai Santa Fe.

The all-new Santa Fe has only been on sale since the 2019 model year, but Hyundai is wasting no time giving its popular SUV a refresh. For the first time, a prototype of the upcoming Hyundai Santa Fe facelift has been caught in the cold undergoing testing.

Unlike the new Kia Sorento, however, the updated Santa Fe is wrapped up warm in the cold with copious amounts of camouflage. Since it makes up 50 percent of Hyundai's SUV sales, the Santa Fe is a very important model for Hyundai, so our sources claim the facelift will bring some significant changes to keep it competitive.

You can't see them in the photos, but the new Santa Fe facelift will sport new headlights with T-shaped LED daytime running lights on each side. We're also expecting the refreshed SUV to feature a new grille, a redesigned front and rear bumper, and updated taillights.

We don't have any new photos to share of the cabin, but photos leaked last month show the updated Santa Fe will have a more premium and high-tech interior akin to the Hyundai Palisade flagship SUV.

Further changes will be found under the hood, as the Hyundai Santa Fe facelift is expected to be offered with new hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrains. Since the updated SUV still appears to be at an early stage of development, we're not expecting the Santa Fe to debut until later this year or early next year.
