It's not everyday that we get psyched for an upcoming Hyundai model. The Korean automaker is better known for its budget sedans, hatchbacks, and SUVs that undercut Japanese automakers than for adrenaline substitutes with lots of horsepower, but that's not the case with the upcoming i30 N. When the package finds its way to the dealerships, it'll come in two versions, the first endowed with 246 horsepower and the second with 271 horsepower.

Enthusiasts can rejoice at the fact that a six-speed manual option is included and a double-clutch may be offered as well. In order to ensure that the i30 N isn't dumped out of our short attention spans by other alternatives like the Honda Civic Type R, Hyundai wanted to let us know that the i30 is coming along nicely with this teaser.

Set at the same location where drivers live, breathe, and die in the name of automotive competition, the i30 N pays its respects by whipping around the Nurburgring at breakneck speeds, the drivers assessing cornering capabilities, acceleration, and most importantly, the number of times their heart beats in a single minute. Mercedes uses the same metric when testing its S-Class, though it's concerned with lowering heart rates using peace and quiet. In this case, Hyundai cares more with raising that number. If that's a side effect you'd like to experience, then be thankful that you only have to wait a few more days until July 13th for the i30 N to make its debut.
