This will be one of seven Hyundai N Line and N models launching by 2022.
The US version of the 2022 Hyundai Tucson made its debut this week, boasting a new daring design with sharp edges and creases. It's a radical departure from its predecessor but the styling looks significantly more striking. You have to commend Hyundai for not playing it safe. As well as revealing the new Tucson, Hyundai has also confirmed a sportier N-Line version will join the Tucson lineup.
The Korean automaker isn't ready to lift the wraps off the Tucson N-Line yet, but these first teaser images preview the SUV's sportier styling. Hyundai says the Tucson N-Line will offer "aggressive and distinctive exterior design features" and "differentiating interior details," as well as unique equipment and exterior colors to distinguish it.
The teaser images show the Tucson N Line will gain a unique grille, larger wheels, a rear diffuser, and a more aggressive rear bumper. Hyundai hasn't confirmed if there will be any mechanical changes, but N-Line models usually have stiffer suspension for a sportier drive and tweaked steering to improve the cornering.
As standard, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson is offered with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine generating 187 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque and electrified powertrains. The N Line version will reportedly have a 2.5-liter turbo producing around 340 hp. This will enable the high-performance SUV to accelerate from 0-62 mph in less than six seconds.
The sportier Tucson will be one of many Hyundai models that will get the N Line and N treatment, as Hyundai is planning to launch as many as seven new N and N Line models by 2022. One of them will be the Hyundai Elantra N shown in teaser images, which is expected to have around 275 hp and 278 lb-ft of torque on tap to match the Veloster N and more aggressive styling than the standard sedan. The new Hyundai Tucson N Line will be available in spring 2021, so look out for the reveal in the coming months.
