The Acura NSX is a fantastic machine that can hold its own against traditional supercars and has become one of our favorites for daily driving duties. As much as we like the current car in all its hybrid excellence, the original NSX is the one that really gets us going. It's becoming rarer by the day and is only appreciating in value, but when the example in question is owned by a famous person and is a one-off of sorts, that value is potentially astronomical. In this case, the famous former owner is rapper Ice Cube, and his one-off machine is a convertible NSX - not a targa.

Sadly, this is not one of those cars that has seen fastidious attention to detail and therefore will probably not command six figures. The canvas roof seems to fit very awkwardly, and it doesn't look like the chassis has been reinforced to account for the reduced rigidity coming with taking the roof off. It's also on some aftermarket wheels that are neither terrible nor great - they just are.

The overall look is pretty horrendous, and we imagine that this particular NSX must now be as stable around corners as an 18-wheeler. Nevertheless, the interior looks pretty clean for the most part and the odometer has registered just 45,575 miles. With an automatic transmission fitted, it's unlikely that this car was ever given the full beans.

The paint and rubbers could do with a refresh, as there are numerous holograms and buffer trails in the swirled paint, likely from a half-assed detailing job. Sadly, that's all we can tell you about the 1992 NSX besides that it was bought by the hip-hop star in that year and is selling for $39,500 via Classic Cars of Sarasota.

If this were an all-original NSX, it'd likely be worth more, but this conversion has been shoddily carried out and the car hasn't been kept in pristine condition. We also think the NSX looks better as it left the factory, but if your taste disagrees with us, there's a link to the sale post at the bottom of this article.
