Never heard of Icona? It's an Italian coachbuilder and design studio, much like Pininfarina, Bertone or Zagato, only much newer, having been founded just three years ago. The company has offices in Turin and Shanghai, and unveiled a concept called the Fuselage (pictured here) at the Shanghai Auto Show in 2011. Now it's coming back with a supercar concept called the Vulcano. Previewed in this solitary teaser image, the Icona Vulcano is set to pack a 900-horspower V12.

The engine has been designed by Claudio Lombardi. of WRC, Scuderia Ferrari and Aprilia Superbike fame. The design, meanwhile, has been penned by Samuel Chuffart who used to work for Nissan, Jaguar Land Rover and Bertone. Inspiration is said to have been drawn from the Ferrari 288 GTO and Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato, which are two very good starting points. The finished product is set to be unveiled on April 19 at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show.
