Hollywood would certainly be a lot more track-focused.
We recently compiled a list of the top five cars that celebrities seem to always buy, which included the Ferrari 458, Bentley Continental GT, Rolls-Royce Ghost, Toyota Prius, and the Range Rover. We asked you to decide which car celebrities should stop buying and the overwhelming answer was, of course, the Prius. However, we'd pick different cars. Based on our list, we will pick the top five cars that celebrities SHOULD buy. Each choice is based on the same function that the original served. So, the Prius won't be replaced by a Lamborghini.
The first car on our previous list was the Ferrari 458 Italia. We know that this car has been replaced by the new 488 GTB, but we think that celebrities should consider switching brands. The McLaren 675 LT might be the best car in the world right now. The car will drag you to hell with 666 horsepower from a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. That may only be five more than the 488, but the McLaren is about 500 pounds lighter. 0-60 mph takes just 2.7 seconds and the quarter mile is dealt with in a scarcely believable 10.5 seconds. Of course, celebrities just want the car to look good, and with tons of carbon fiber and those awesome doors, the 675 definitely achieves this. You can even buy a Spider to show off even more!
The next car on our list was the Bentley Continental GT. Even we understood this choice. The Bentley is supremely comfortable, yet fun to drive when the mood strikes. However, if you wanted to have a car that was a bit more capable, you would want the new Aston Martin DB11. The Aston totally beats the Bentley on cool factor. Paris Hilton drives a Bentley, James Bond drives an Aston. Image aside, the Aston Martin now comes with an all-new 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 with 600 hp. And that is before they even make a faster version. The Continental may be available with 626 hp, but weighs over 1,000 lbs. more and is less driver- focused than the Aston. Come on celebs, you all want to be like Bond.
This next car was a tough one. Many celebrities flock to Rolls-Royce because it is one of the most prestigious brands and it offers unbelievable comfort. Rolls- Royces are pretty much in a class of their own, so we had to think outside of the box for this one. If you are looking for the biggest, most ostentatious car, with supreme luxury, you should get the Conquest Knight XV. This gigantic armored vehicle from Canada is 20 feet long and 8.3 feet tall and makes the Rolls- Royce seem tiny. It even beats the Rolls- Royce on price at $629,000. Not even a Phantom costs that much. It may not be as glamorous as the Roller, but if you are an important celebrity who values your own safety, this is the car to buy!
Unfortunately, our previous list featured the Prius. We didn't need a crystal ball to predict that it would win our poll of which car celebrities shouldn't buy. There are so many eco-friendly alternatives that look and drive so much better. In order to not take the easy way out, let's pretend that all of the celebrities who bought a Prius did so because they just really wanted something that gets great gas mileage, and is ugly. Therefore we can rule out a Tesla. That still leaves a multitude of efficient cars like the BMW i3, Nissan Leaf, Chevrolet Volt, and the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq. Even with all of these cars and the Tesla, celebrities still buy the Prius. Just pick anything else, celebrities. You're rich, get something nice!
The last car on our list was actually an SUV. The Range Rover is the favorite among celebrities for many tangible and intangible reasons. It is excellent off-road, which we are sure they don't care about, and it has become a status symbol for wealth and class around the world (ding, ding, ding). Yeah, that's why they buy it. The Range Rover has enjoyed a long reign as the ultimate SUV for rich snobby people, but that reign may be coming to a close. In the future there will be an onslaught of exotic manufacturers that will decide to make an SUV. The Bentley Bentayga was the first of these models, and will soon be joined by Maserati, Lamborghini, and even Rolls-Royce. Watch out Range Rover, your time as king may be coming to an end.
With a 600 horsepower twin-turbo W12, the Bentayga is more powerful than any Range Rover, and we bet it is even more comfortable. The Bentley is even more opulent than the Range Rover with crazy options like a $160,000 clock. That's more than the cost of most Range Rovers. Which of our celebrity alternatives did you like the most? Or did we forget to recommend something even better. There are many cool cars on the market that celebrities can afford, so let us know if the comments!
