Have you got one yet?
Within days of Apple Watches landing in mailboxes, the reviews have been coming in thick and fast. From complaints of the phallic-shaped box to the fact the new must-have toy will be almost impossible to upgrade, it will take time to get used to, but there’s little chance this will be a passing fad. BMW and Porsche certainly don’t think so, having already unveiled their new apps for the Apple Watch.
BMW’s i Remote app allows i3 and i8 owners to check the status of their rides with a “glance screen” that reveals critical information like available range, battery charge level and whether the doors are locked. Other neat features of the app include accessing the climate control system remotely and sending navigation directions to the car. The Porsche Car Connect app enables users to remotely lock the car and to set off its horn and lights so owners can find their rides in a crowded car park. We can't imagine 918 Spyder owners will ever forget where their car hypercar is parked, but you never know.
