KTM has just unveiled an even more powerful version of their X-Bow. As they work to fight off new competitors such as the BAC Mono, the company has just unleashed the X-Bow R. The R features an Audi 2.0-liter TFSI gasoline engine that's been equipped with a larger turbocharger, higher performance fuel injectors, and a reworked ECU. The result? The four-cylinder now produces 295hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The standard X-Bow, just for comparison, has 237hp.
Due to the extra power, engineers had to install a new torque arm that's directly connected to the carbon monocoque chassis. As a result, the R has much improved rigidity and improved handling. On top of this, the car's center of gravity has been lowered by 15mm and the suspension has been upgraded with stiffer springs and dampers. According to the manufacturer, the X-Bow R starts at €58,795, or $82,800 according to current exchange rates.
