And you don't even have to buy a new car to take advantage.
Every time that Infiniti reveals an update for one of its vehicles, you can be assured that new technology will be a part of the refresh. The 2022 Infiniti QX80, for example, was revealed with a big focus on improving its infotainment system, and it's a similar story with the 2022 models of the Q50 sedan and the Q60 coupe. But Infiniti isn't leaving its existing buyers out in the cold. The luxury automaker has today announced that 2020 and 2021 models of the Q50, Q60, QX50, and QX80 are now eligible for a free tech upgrade: wireless Apple CarPlay.
"Customer satisfaction has always been one of the highest priorities at Infiniti, and we are pleased to bring wireless Apple CarPlay to owners of the majority of our 2020 and 2021 vehicles," said Infiniti group vice president Jeff Pope. "More than 80% of luxury vehicle owners use Apple products, and now these Infiniti owners can go wireless while using CarPlay in their vehicle."
Wireless Apple CarPlay was first introduced in the all-new QX55 that arrived in the spring before it was seen in the QX80 with its new 12.3-inch INTouch infotainment display. The Q50 and Q60 were next, followed by the seven-seater QX60.
The best part about the new tech upgrade is that you don't have to buy a new vehicle to get it, nor do you have to pay to upgrade. Instead, you simply contact your nearest dealer to schedule the free upgrade "with no strings attached." Furthermore, Infiniti says that the upgrade is completed in under an hour. Customers can book any time from today, October 12 until March 31, 2022.
We suspect that a gesture like this will go a long way to placating customers who may have been frustrated with the lack of the feature, but it will also announce to these customers that even after the car has been sold, Infiniti will look to improve it. You can't argue with that kind of customer care.
