This is the very first look at Infiniti's Q30 Concept, a preview of what the premium carmaker has in store for its maiden compact model. Infiniti describes the shape of the concept as fusing the body styles of a coupe, hatch and crossover, with styling in line with the new Q50. Aimed at Gen-Y customers it sits somewhere between an Audi A3 and Q3, while according to the Japanese carmaker it will have a clear advantage over other models in the premium compact segment.

That's a result of having the sporty styling of a couple combined with the roominess of a hatch and high stance of a crossover if you're to believe the official bumph. Powerplant details have yet to be revealed as Infiniti presumably wants to hold something back for the Frankfurt Motor Show where the Q30 Concept will make its debut. But reports suggest it will be built on Mercedes' MFA platform underpinning the A-Class and B-Class, with the German carmaker also providing the power trains.
