Inflatable Missiles Hone in on Car

Offbeat

Drivers could soon have the chance to tie inflatable missile balloons to the back of their cars.

Every year a global event takes place in the southern French city of Cannes for the hardworking souls of the advertising world to rub shoulders and pat each other on the back. Formerly the International Advertising Festival and now the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, it is often cited as the biggest ad festival on the planet. Now in its 59th year, many brilliant adverts were born here, and one such creative masterpiece was the Missile Car, which took the Grand Prix Award for Outdoor and Print back in 2004.

Inflatable missile balloons appear to chase down a car in the advert created by a Malaysian media company, and this ingenious idea now has a Facebook following, which is trying to build up enough momentum with the hope of making these balloons publicly available. Aptly named Missile Balloons, once the FB page reach 15,000 members they intend to order custom made balloons. We for one wish them well with their endeavor and hope to see them on the highways as soon as possible.
