Kia has been very busy in the past few months, with new and updated models hitting the showroom floor on what seems to be a continual basis. The 2023 Kia Telluride has already been spotted in the wild, we're getting ready to welcome the 2022 Kia Sorento PHEV, and the new Kia Sportage won't stop breaking sales records. Now Kia America has announced the 2022 Niro Hybrid which promises to bring even more value and practicality to the table. The 2022 Niro Hybrid arrives with Kia's new badging, and a long list of standard driver assistance features.

Under the hood, the Kia Niro Hybrid retains its 1.6-liter GDI engine and electric motor combination that's good for 139 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. This efficient powertrain delivers incredible gas mileage features: the LX trim will achieve 53/48/50 mpg on the city/highway/combined cycle. Kia's DriveWise driver assistance suite offers forward collision-avoidance, blind spot collision warning with rear cross traffic collision warning, lane following assist, navigation-based smart cruise control, highway driving assist, high beam assist, driver attention warning and parking distance warning.

The Niro is classified as a subcompact crossover, and offers a solid 19.4 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats, or 54.5 cubes with the rear seats folded down. Top trim levels get a 10.25-inch infotainment display, and all trims come with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Pricing for the 2022 Kia Niro Hybrid starts at $24,690 for the base model (LX), and is followed by the LXS for $26,090, the LXS SE for $27,590, the Touring SE for $29,890, and finally the EX Premium for $31,990. The Niro still offers massive value for money when compared to competitors such as the Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid, which only starts in the mid $35k range, or the Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-In Hybrid that starts at $36k.
