When Audi came out with the new R8, the automaker was rumored to have some major plans for the supercar. While the majority of future plans sounded great, there was one that made us question what the company was thinking. Audi may have brought back the V10-powered R8 but killed off the V8 in favor of a smaller engine, which was rumored to be a V6. There's no official word on whether Audi will put a V6 engine into the supercar, but Autobahn.eu got a hold of an upcoming product schedule and it looks like a six-cylinder is in the plans.

Last year, a V6-powered R8 seemed like a far-fetched idea, but after seeing the Acura NSX and Ford GT, it looks like every supercar automaker is looking for a way to downsize its V8s. The graphic reveals release dates for a variety of upcoming vehicles, such as the Audi RS3 Sedan, TT RS Coupe, SQ7 and more. According to the chart, 2018 is going to be a busy year for the automaker with reveals expected for the A8, RS5 Coupe, and A7. Not to mention the V6-powered R8 should be here by 2018 as well. If this chart shows anything, it's that the next few years will be extremely busy for Audi.
