Cadillac is undergoing a lot of changes these days. From its model names, HQ location, to even its president, GM's luxury division is aiming high, specifically at Germany. The model rejuvenation will continue with the upcoming CT6 flagship, which will go head-to-head with the Mercedes S-Class. But what about a halo car/successor to the old XLR? In a recent interview with Automobile magazine, Cadillac president Johan de Nysschen (the guy who just told Detroit not to mess with him) said he believes there is "room for a car above the CT6…I'm a performance enthusiast myself.

We should also look at one or two sports cars that you buy for emotional reasons, not for practicality, but because they are so sexy and fun to drive." If de Nysschen comes through with this, does that mean we may receive a second Caddie performance car with Corvette underpinnings, as was the case with the XLR?
