Four-door, rear-wheel-drive sedan sounds perfect.
The Holden Commodore, the Australian version of the Chevrolet SS, is a beastly sedan that can keep up with purpose-built and more powerful sports cars. Holdens with the HSV brand are incredibly powerful, but the Australian automaker is planning an even more powerful muscle car with the GTS-R moniker. According to Australian car blog Car Advice, Holden registered the trademark on the vehicle, which represents the first step in creating a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1-powered sedan that can take on the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat.
While the vehicle's actual powertrain is still up in the air, Car Advice believes that the final production won't go beyond the current LSA configuration, especially since the LSA project has proved to be a handful for the engineers. There's no word on whether the ultimate HSV will be a limited-edition GTS with a small bump in power or a complete animal with an extremely limited run. Either way, the car is expected to come out in 2016 and should hit showrooms soon after that.
