The hi-po SUV market is really hotting up.
After a twenty-year hiatus, Land Rover unveiled the Range Rover Long Wheelbase last year in LA. The new model boasted an extra 140 mm of leg room, buckets of rear passenger space as a result, and plenty of new toys. However, these spy shots suggest that buyers are demanding a bit more than the range-topping 5.0-liter supercharged V8 has to offer. Wearing some body camo and a quad exhaust system, are we looking at a high-performance variant of the Range Rover LWB?
If so, then this will be handled by Land Rover´s Special Operations Vehicles department, who will doubtless fit the 550-hp version of the same engine borrowed from the RR Sport SVR into the RR LWB. Chassis and aerodynamic upgrades will also have to be made if indeed this is what we think it is.
