Last month, a report emerged claiming that Porsche is preparing to unleash a new hardcore version of the Panamera Turbo called the "Lion." The stripped-out sedan is allegedly being developed to set a new Nurburgring lap record and has been uprated to between 750 hp and 820 hp. It's believed this setup will enable the Panamera to conquer the grueling Green Hell in just seven minutes and 10 seconds, beating the current record set by the Lynk & Co 03 Cyan concept by 10 seconds.

And now it looks like Porsche is also cooking up a hotter version of the Cayenne Coupe SUV. Our spies caught Porsche testing a modified Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid Coupe. Since it was parked up, the photographers were able to get some close up shots that reveal an intriguing modification.

At first glance, it looks like an ordinary Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid Coupe. However, on closer inspection, you can see two round centrally mounted exhaust pipes that are not on the regular model. There are also fake squared exhaust pipes replacing the SUV's four round pipes.

It's possible, then, that Porsche is preparing a hardcore version of the Cayenne Coupe. Because the world clearly needs more high-performance super SUVs right now. It could be called the Cayenne Coupe RS or the GT according to our source, but an official name hasn't been confirmed.

In stock form, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid Coupe packs a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 delivering 541 horsepower and 567 lb-ft of torque. Combined with a 134 hp electric motor, the hybrid setup generates 670 hp and 663 lb-ft, enabling the SUV to hit 0-62 mph in 3.6 seconds.

These are already supercar performance levels, but the RS model could potentially increase the output to over 800 horsepower if it packs the same setup as the Panamera Lion, which would make it one of the most powerful SUVs ever made. It could be a special one-off model, but we're keeping our fingers crossed the Cayenne Coupe RS makes it to production.
