Some call it a hairdresser’s car. Others claim it’s a Porsche Boxster wannabe. Whatever your personal opinion may be, the all-new 2015 Audi TT was designed from the get-go to be a major step up from its immediate predecessor. The third-gen model is still recognizable as a TT thanks to its bubbly roofline and tight dimensions, but Audi was fully aware that it needed to up its performance game in this segment if it wanted to remain competitive. After all, the latest Boxster is a fantastic thing.
With a spectacular interior only Audi could do and an improved engine and platform, the new TT, on paper at least, appears solid. But does it still have the stigma of being a Volkswagen Golf in drag? XCAR gets behind the wheel to find out.
