Is the Alfa Romeo 4C Truly an Affordable Supercar?

Test Drive / Comments

Alfa Romeo's first new model to reach the US in years is finally put to the test.

Let's look at the facts: the new Alfa Romeo 4C features an F1-inspired carbon fiber tub, outstanding handling abilities, a beautiful exhaust note, and exotic styling inside and out. These are all things that are also found on Ferraris and McLarens, and yet the 4C carries a price tag of around $55,000. So is this Alfa, the first new model to come to the US in years, essentially an affordable supercar? That's the very question Motor Trend is looking to answer with this featured test drive.

With 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, and a curb weight of less than 2,500 lbs, the 4C looks the part, but does it have all the ingredients to be an icon? Does its turbocharged four-cylinder sound the way it should? Check out the video ahead to find out.
