The competition is getting even fiercer, but the R8 V10 Plus still manages to hold its own - for now.
From the moment it debuted way back in 2007, the Audi R8 redefined what exactly a supercar was supposed to be. Instead of something that was hard to handle and best left for wide open roads, the R8 proved that it was possible to build a so-called daily supercar. It is, for lack of any better words, an utterly brilliant machine. With its Le Mans racing roots and Quattro all-wheel drive system, the R8 presented a challenge to the likes of Ferrari and even Lamborghini.
Why? Because it proved supercars can be refined and now Audi has built something that’s almost totally bonkers: the R8 V10 Plus. The folks over at XCAR got behind the wheel of one just to see whether it’s even possible for the R8 V10 to get even better. Hint: A manual gearbox would help.
